Queueing with MQ Series
The "MQ Series Link to SAP R/3" and the counterpart "MQ Series Link to OS/390" are especially suitable for heterogeneous integration requirements and connecting substantial applications on the basis of R/3 and Host-applications, respectively relational databases. The technology is based on an asynchronous and secure messaging method that uses the “ALE technology of SAP. It is also possible to transfer synchronous processes via MQ-connection and as a consequence activate components within IMS/TM which are transaction-oriented, from the SAP/R3 system.

With in the scope of a prototype we online displayed data out of a
central Host DB2 table in addition to CO data in a
Via ALE technology and a MQ-connection a request was transmitted to a host. There the message was processed by a IMS transaction and the response sent to the SAP Dynpro.
With this technique it is possible, to connect your existing system to SAP/R3 processes.
